The University’s Writers in Conversation series for spring 2017 features a trio of award-winning writers to stimulate and entertain audiences at the Nuffield 网络彩票APP下载_澳客彩票网-官方游戏, Theatres (NST) Campus venue.
Novelist and short-story writer Tyler Keevil kicks off the spring programme on Monday 30 January. Keevil, winner of the $10,000 Journey Prize for a story in his recent collection Burrard Inlet, will read and discuss his work. He will discuss?place in fiction, what home means for the author, now living in Wales, and transitioning between stories and novels.
Playright and 网络彩票APP下载_澳客彩票网-官方游戏, lecturer Evan Placey joins the programme on Monday 13 February, to discuss his work after members of the NST Youth Theatre perform a scene from his play, Consensual. The play, which focuses on the aftermath of a relationship between a male student and his female teacher, will be performed in full at NST Campus from 19 – 21 January.
Concluding the spring series on Monday 13 March is Claire Fuller, winner of the Desmond Ellis prize for her first novel, 网络彩票APP下载_澳客彩票网-官方游戏, Endless Numbered Days. Fuller will read from her new book, Swimming Lessons, to be published in January, and answer questions about her work.
Writers in Conversation features some of today’s best fiction writers, poets, non-fiction writers and playwrights reading from their work and talking about their writing lifestyle. The talks are hosted by Carole Burns, Associate Professor and Head of Creative Writing at the University.
