Wearing White Day on Friday 3 February

Ahead of World Cancer Day (Saturday 4 February 2017), the Centre for Cancer Immunology?is?launching?its #WearingWhite campaign, encouraging staff and students to wear something white on Friday 3 February and donate ?3.

Why white? Inspired by the white blood cells that help our bodies to protect themselves from infection and disease, the Centre’s research is boosting the ability of these cells to fight and eradicate cancer. By #WearingWhite you are helping to fund a new world-leading Centre for Cancer Immunology, which will accelerate research progress and save more lives from cancer.

Your white item(s) could be anything – from a full outfit to a hairband, a hat to a pair of shoes, delve into your wardrobe and join in on Friday 3 February.

You can donate ?3?by texting YOUREIT to 70660 or look out for one of the campaign collection buckets.

You can also get involved in the social side of the appeal which starts today, with the hashtag?#WearingWhite being used on Facebook and Twitter. Simply take a?photo of yourself wearing something white and post it to Facebook or Twitter along with a personalised message honouring a loved one/loved ones affected by cancer, or a more general message of support for our research/new Centre.
