From 12:00 – 14:00 on Tuesday 5 December and Thursday 7 December, the newly formed Disability Staff Working Group?and the?Students’ Union will be bringing you a series of activities and information stalls promoting disability equality.
The event will take place on the Red Brick, outside the Students’ Union as well as in?the Concourse (the reception area in the Students’ Union?Building 42) on Highfield Campus.

Attendees will have the opportunity to:
- learn sign language
- take part in?‘mini’ sports tasters
- understand the meaning of inclusive communication
- access free online courses
- learn more about deaf awareness
- meet with the Enable Me Charity
- gain an understanding of the Access guide Disabled Go
The events are open to all staff and students, so please come along and participate on the day and time which suits you.
Disability History Month runs from 22 November –?22 December. During this month, organisations hold events to promote disability equality and raise awareness of the rights of people with disabilities.
Did you know that, since 1992, each year on the 3 December the United Nations observes the ‘International Day of Persons with Disabilities’??The aim of this day is to empower society to “strive for inclusivity through the removal of physical, technological and attitudinal barriers for people with disability” in all aspect of life, including education.
