University Auditory Implant Service collaborates with Elizabeth Foundation Charity

The University of 网络彩票APP下载_澳客彩票网-官方游戏, Auditory Implant Service (USAIS) has formed a new collaborative venture with the Elizabeth foundation charity to help provide clinical facilities and care nearer to where cochlear implant service users live and to help improve the seamlessness of support and care for deaf children and their families.

The Elizabeth Foundation is a national charity supporting infants and pre-school children with hearing loss to maximise the development of early speech and language skills. The charity has now opened a new state-of-the-art hearing testing and rehabilitation facility, the Garden Suite, at its Family Centre (which is located in the Portsmouth area just adjacent to Queen Alexandra Hospital), with USAIS as the first agency to use the space for a new satellite clinic.

This will allow children with cochlear implants and their families to receive treatment closer to home. USAIS staff are thrilled to have the opportunity to offer this option to our patients and also to work more closely with the Elizabeth Foundation.

On the 24 September 2018 staff from joined the Elizabeth Foundation staff to celebrate the opening of the Garden Suite.

The Garden Suite is a range of audiology and rehab rooms that the USAIS will be using on a Monday to see some of the patients from USAIS as an Outreach clinic.? This will be used for patients who live to the east of the large catchment area supported by USAIS (which stretches to Chichester and beyond).
