Student experience surveys: Top five ways staff can support

Find out how you can play your part in encouraging students to participate in one of the four student experience surveys that launched on 7 February.

Did you know around 40 per cent of last year’s online National Student Survey (NSS) respondents said they were told about the survey by a lecturer or member of staff? Read our top five ways you can support in raising awareness of the surveys below.

  1. Find out what you need to know about the surveys
There are four surveys running from 7 February: The National Student Survey (NSS), the 网络彩票APP下载_澳客彩票网-官方游戏, Student Survey (SSS), the Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey (PTES) and the Postgraduate Research Experience Survey (PRES). Find out more.
  2. Get involved in Survey Fortnight
Survey Fortnight starts on 7 February to tie in with the surveys launch and end on 21 February. There will be focused promotions highlighting all of the surveys across these opening two weeks. Please note: All surveys will be open until the end of April. We will be encouraging colleagues to support the surveys and raise awareness to students within the faculties, facilities and services. If you’re planning to run any survey-related events, we’d recommend holding them during Survey Fortnight.
  3. Use the email signature
Do you regularly email students? Help us get the message out there by using our surveys email signatures. Find instructions and download the signatures here.

  4. Use the shout outs at the beginning and end of lectures
If you’re one of our many teaching staff, you’re invited to use the survey presentation and shout out PowerPoint slides at the beginning and end of lectures.?A short presentation explaining the surveys can be downloaded here and a single page reminder slide to use at the start or end of each lecture can be downloaded here.
  5. Let students know about any incentives
By taking a few minutes to fill out the survey, students are helping to raise up to ?10,000 for the Student Support Fund.??Find out terms and conditions. Last year many members of staff ran local events, with pizza or coffee, to encourage students to participate in the surveys, with some areas also running local incentives, including donations to charity or student societies.

Thank you to all our staff who support with the surveys. If you manage any social channels aimed at students, feel free to join the conversation about the National Student Survey using: #NSSHaveYourSay.
