Shaping the future of the PULSE LGBT+ Staff Network

Throughout the month of February, our University is celebrating LGBT+ History month and would like your help in shaping the future of the PULSE LGBT+ Staff Network.

The PULSE Network discusses issues its members have encountered and develops strategies to address them, as well as looking to support each other and work with the University for improved LGBT+ recognition and support.

The Network is holding an Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Wednesday 27?February,?12:00 – 13:00 in Building 58, Room 1023 (L/R G). Everyone is welcome to join and you can register your attendance here.

This AGM is your opportunity to:

  • Meet other members
  • Hear about successes from 2018
  • Help to shape?the future of the Network

For more information about the Network, visit their dedicated blog.

The network is currently seeking expressions of interest for the role of Network Chair and would like?to thank James Allen for his work and dedication as he steps down from the role – his?achievements were?recognised and celebrated at the 2018 Vice-Chancellor’s Awards.

James has made an outstanding contribution to the University with his dedicated work to create a welcoming, safe and inclusive environment for the LGBT community. In 2017, James introduced the rainbow UoS Pulse lanyards that quickly became familiar with all staff members. James recognised that when anyone can be themselves, they have an increased sense of wellbeing and perform better.

Jame’s departure from the role of?Network?Chair?means there is an exciting opportunity for staff to make a real difference within the University by getting more involved in the running of the PULSE Network.

If this sounds like something you would be interested in, then please come along to the AGM on the date and time above, or if you’re unable to make it, please get in touch by emailing: diversity@soton.ac.uk
