Mental Health Awareness Week brings Wellfest 2019

Mental Health Awareness Week takes place from 13?– 19 May 2019. We are pleased to announce that, building on the success of the last two years, Wellfest?is back and will take place on Wednesday 15 May 2019 from 10:00 ?16:00.

Wellfest is a celebration of all things related to our wellbeing, organised by Enabling Services and Student Life.

The purpose of the event is to raise awareness of the services and support available at the University and across the city. There will be information stands and stalls in Garden Court, Highfield Campus for students to visit and ask any questions they may have.

You can also sign up to take part in our wellbeing workshops to learn techniques to maintain your wellbeing, and participate in some fun activities.

These include:

  • Mindfulness taster sessions
  • A Hypnotherapy taster session
  • A Sport and Wellbeing workshop
  • The chance to meet a Therapy Dog
  • Mini-massages
  • Coping with exam stress workshop

Click here to book your place on one of the workshops.

In addition, the Students’ Union is running events in relation to their ‘You Are More Than” campaign throughout May. You can find more information about these events in the coming weeks on the SUSU website. The University’s Comms team will also be running their #YouGotDiss campaign full of information on the University support services available to you through the dissertation/deadline period.

If you have any questions about Wellfest or wellbeing support, please call Enabling Services on 02380 597726 or email enable@soton.ac.uk.

If you’re worried or are struggling with something, it can help to talk to someone about what you are going through. If you’re a student, you can?find out who you can talk to if you need some support with your mental health and wellbeing.

Staff members can access the Health and Wellbeing site on SharePoint, for a host of resources to support you with mental health and wellbeing, including information on the Employee Assistance Programme (EAP).
