World Menopause Day events for staff

Wednesday 18 October is World Menopause Day and as a university, we want to mark the event by increasing awareness and continuing to break the stigma around speaking about the menopause.

The University delivers menopause awareness training, has signed the Menopause Workplace Pledge and has a Menopause Working Group to ensure we are listening and responding to feedback to support our staff. 网络彩票APP下载_澳客彩票网-官方游戏, Menopause Working Group have also been nominated for a Vice Chancellor Award recognising the contribution they’ve made to the University.

We’ll be running events to encourage conversation about the menopause and how we can support staff. Whether you’re directly impacted or just want to know how to support friends, family and colleagues, there’s something for you. Details on how to book can be found below.

  • Menopause drop in session – an informal opportunity to mingle with others impacted by the menopause and perimenopause and to discuss support for staff, refreshments provided You can prebook here
  • Bitesize learning module on menopause at work (15 minutes)
  • Menopause in the workplace training for all staff
  • World Menopause Day UoS Podcast – For episode one of University of 网络彩票APP下载_澳客彩票网-官方游戏, World Menopause Day Podcast 2023, Heather Pasero and Shanel Munnoch spoke to the government’s first Menopause Employment Champion, Helen Tomlinson. Helen will drive awareness of issues surrounding menopause and work while promoting the benefits for businesses and the economy when women are supported to stay in work and progress.   • Menopause safe listening space. We had a September menopause safe listening space but any future dates will be added here
  • Free taster class – Fitness Pilates, 18 October 12:15 – 12:45, Jubilee Sports Centre. No need to prebook, just turn up a few minutes before.
  • Free taster class – Zumba, 18 October 12:50 – 13:35, Jubilee Sports Centre. No need to prebook, just turn up a few minutes before.
  • Free taster class – CIRCL (Functional movement which focuses on flexibility, breathwork, and mobility exercises to help you move better), 19 October 14:30 – 15:00. The Martial Arts Room in SUSU building. No need to prebook, just turn up a few minutes before.
