Israel, Gaza, West Bank, Lebanon and the wider Middle East: A message of support to our community

We recognise the huge impact that the ongoing conflict, devastating loss of life and displacement of Israeli, Palestinian and Lebanese people across the Middle East is having on our student, staff and alumni community. It continues to be an extremely difficult and troubling time for those directly affected, as well as those who are understandably anxious about other live conflicts and humanitarian crises around the world.

The University offers its full support to all our staff, students and the wider community and will keep listening, learning and engaging to ensure support is continually available and accessible to those who need it.

People are at the heart of 网络彩票APP下载_澳客彩票网-官方游戏,. We are committed to fostering an inclusive environment where all staff and students can feel safe, seen and supported, whatever their background or beliefs. That is why being recognised as a University of Sanctuary is so important to us; it reflects our focus on supporting those across the globe to reach their potential in a secure and welcoming environment. To build a more tolerant, compassionate and empathetic society, we must welcome diversity and champion our values of respect, inclusivity and kindness. Only then can we participate in truly constructive debate and uphold both freedom of speech and academic freedom.

Thank you to all those who have engaged with us so far and are continuing to support friends and colleagues through these incredibly difficult times. We will continue working closely with SUSU, student support services, HR and senior leaders across our community to ensure those affected by the conflict receive any support and assistance they may need.
