The EPSRC Vacation Bursary Scheme provides funding for the most able undergraduate students to gain first-hand experience of research. These awards are supported through the University of 网络彩票APP下载_澳客彩票网-官方游戏,’s EPSRC Doctoral Training Partnership grant (DTP), and are allocated through a competitive tender.
The EPSRC Vacation Bursary scheme provides funding for the most able undergraduate students to gain first-hand experience of research. Recipients of the EPSRC Vacation Internship may receive up to 11 weeks of funding for salary at National Living Wage, as well as support for research consumables (?300 overall).
The commencement date for all funded undergraduate Summer Research Internships will be 24 June 2024, with the final poster presentation being hosted on 5 September 2024.
In order to be eligible for a Vacation Internship, students must:
???????Every encouragement to apply is given to groups currently under-represented in engineering and physical sciences research. Please note external students from other universities are eligible as long as they meet the rest of the eligibility criteria.
Supervisor application process
Supervisors who are part of University research groups are invited to apply for a research project which they would like to have a student intern work on. All applications will be considered by a panel consisting of a representative from the Doctoral College, a representative from Careers, Employability and Student Enterprise and Faculty Directors of Graduate Schools.
The criteria used by the panel to select internships will be as follows:
Supervisors who are successful in their application will be invited to advertise their role to undergraduates through the MyCareer portal.
Student application process
Students will be able to apply to the advertised projects from Monday 26 February on MyCareer .
Once student applications have closed, the Careers, Employability and Student Enterprise team will pass on fully completed applications to supervisors, who will then select successful candidates through an application review and interview.
