From magazines and radio to Instagram and TikTok, this workshop invites you to playfully and joyfully engage with archival materials in both their original and re-mediated forms. Through ¡®imaginative listening¡¯, we will tune our ears to hear what is missing from these archives and re-imagine archives in a meaningful way by developing and ideating our own speculative sonic memories. In this workshop, participants will learn how to listen critically across media forms and apply their imaginative listening to develop a short soundwork inspired by the politics of nostalgia, memory, and media archives.

No prior audio or creative writing experience is required. Participants are encouraged to bring headphones and a laptop if available.
