This course features four training episodes where you will discover:
- What public engagement with research is and why its important
- The wide range of people/audiences you can engage with, inform, influence and learn from
- Different options and?formats for engagement activities?and how to evaluate their success
- How to develop your communication skills for diverse events and audiences
- A?wide range of tools and resources to enhance your engagement activities
- A network of engaged researchers and supportive public engagement professionals
- How/when to apply for funding and next steps in your public engagement journey
The course has been designed with researchers from any discipline in mind, but may sometimes be offered for a particular disciplinary group (eg in collaboration with a Faculty).
Each of the four sessions is a blend of 1) on-line preparatory content taking approx 30 mins to complete; 2) face-to-face session (half-day) building from the on-line tasks, with interactive group tasks, discussion and advice.? Participants are required to attend all four of the sessions to complete the course satisfactorily.
Following completion of the sessions, there is an opportunity to take forward (with seed-funding) your engagement idea/plan to test out at an appropriate event (eg 网络彩票APP下载_澳客彩票网-官方游戏, Science & Engineering Festival, Arts & Humanities Festival or similar Faculty/discipline-based opportunities.
The course is co-delivered by colleagues in Public Engagement and Centre for Higher Education Practice.
