Research project:?Shape and depth perception

Currently Active:
Yes

A key task of the visual system is to estimate the 3D structure of our surroundings. We are interested in how we use and combine different sources of information to estimate shape and depth.

There are several sources of information about the structure of objects. These include shading, texture, binocular disparity (the differences between the left and right eyes’ views) and motion. We also rely on assumptions about the structure of the world, e.g. that objects are more often convex, light usually comes from overhead. 网络彩票APP下载_澳客彩票网-官方游戏, lab investigates how these various cues from our surroundings are combined with assumptions to enable us to quickly, efficiently and robustly reconstruct our environment.
