About
I am a Postdoctoral Researcher working in Survey Futures, a large-scale research project funded by the UKRI-ESRC aiming to ensure large-scale social surveys in the UK can innovate and adapt in a changing environment.
Research
Research interests
- Survey methodology
- Data collection and analysis
- Statistical analysis
- Transport behaviour modelling
- Discrete choice models
Current research
I am interested in analysing how aspects like sampling frameworks, questionnaire design, fieldwork management, and participant recruitment, can contribute towards producing valuable information to understand human behaviour and decision-making in a changing environment.

Teaching
I have been a Teaching Assistant in three modules:
- Introduction to Transport Engineering (3 terms, Universidad de Concepcion, Chile).
- CEG8423: Transport Research Methods (2 terms, Newcastle University).
- CEG8419: Transport Modelling and Forecasting (2 terms, Newcastle University).
Biography
My background is in transport behaviour analysis and modelling. I hold a BSc in Civil Engineering (Transport) from Universidad de Concepción (Chile), an MSc in Transportation Engineering and Logistics from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (PUC), and a PhD in Behaviour Informatics from Newcastle University. I worked for 10 years in consultancy back in Chile, earning a vast experience as a researcher in the fields of data collection, processing and analysis, mostly involving transport field measurements and user surveys.
My research work has been focused on understanding individual transport decisions using quantitative data. My PhD thesis analysed the main determinants of electric vehicle choice in the UK and used several data sources (including surveys) to build a behavioural-based forecast of their market adoption.
I joined the University of 网络彩票APP下载_澳客彩票网-官方游戏, in January 2024, now focusing on data collection and survey design. I am interested in how the interdisciplinary nature of behavioural research can be enhanced by the information that high-quality surveys generate.
